Our values in school support and promote the British values as defined in the 2011 Prevent Strategy.

The British values are:

• Democracy

• The rule of law

• Individual Liberty

• Mutual Respect

• Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

In school these values are promoted throughout at all times and in all curriculum areas and form a key part of our expectations of children, parents and staff.  We link this to our 6Rs:

The children learn about each 'R' half termly through assemblies and PSHE lessons. The teachers focus on each one when they are rewarding good work and behaviour within school. The children understand what the words mean and how they will help them become better learners and more importantly better citizens in the community, whilst they are at Brackensdale Primary School and in the future.

It is wonderful to hear the children using the words themselves in the right context, and feeling proud of their growing skills and confidence.
